Our Story

miekki was born from a moment every mother understands — the desire to dress her children in something truly special.

When my oldest daughter was three, I searched everywhere for a classic, elegant dress for her sister’s baptism. I imagined light colors, delicate embroidery, soft textures, and the timeless beauty I remembered from my own childhood. Yet no matter where I looked, I couldn’t find clothing that captured that feeling — that grace, that meaning, that sense of tradition.

That frustration became the spark that led to miekki.

A Heritage Woven Into Every Stitch

My inspiration goes back to my Spanish heritage on my mother’s side. When I was a little girl, my grandmother would return from her trips to Spain with the most exquisite dresses — classic silhouettes, hand-embroidered details, artistry that felt alive. One of those dresses has stayed with me my entire life. I still hold it today, a reminder of my childhood and of the generations of women in my family who cherished craftsmanship and beauty.

Looking at that dress now, I feel a deep connection to where I come from. It reminds me that clothing can hold memories forever — and that some pieces deserve to be kept, treasured, and passed down.

Why miekki Exists

As a mom of three girls, I wanted them to experience that same magic. I wanted them to wear clothing that felt meaningful — not fast fashion, not mass-produced designs, but heirloom pieces made with intention.

miekki was created to restore classic children’s fashion and bring back the art of traditional craftsmanship.
Every miekki piece is made by skilled artisans who use techniques passed down through generations:

  • Traditional hand-embroidered dresses
  • Classic baby clothing crafted with timeless details
  • Smocked baby clothes made the old-fashioned way
  • Heirloom children’s clothing designed to last

These are not just outfits.
They are keepsakes — symbols of love, childhood, and family heritage.

More Than Clothing — A Feeling

miekki is for mothers who believe beauty matters.
For parents who value tradition.
For families who want pieces that never go out of style.

Our dresses, rompers, boys’ sets, and buttery-soft swaddle blankets are designed to be worn, loved, photographed, remembered… and eventually passed down to the next little one in the family.

Childhood is made of fleeting moments.
miekki helps preserve them.

Thank you for letting my family’s story become a part of yours.

With love,

Our Mission

As a mom, I know how much love goes into choosing the right outfit for your little one. At miekki, my mission is to offer thoughtfully chosen clothing that feels as special as the childhood moments they’re worn in.

Each piece in our shop is made by skilled artisans using traditional techniques like hand embroidery and smocking—styles that have stood the test of time. I believe in preserving beauty, quality, and meaning in children’s clothing, so these outfits can be cherished, worn with joy, and even passed down from one generation to the next.

miekki is more than just clothing—it’s about celebrating the little things, embracing tradition, and finding joy in the everyday.

Meet the Founder — Beverly Venturini

miekki was born from a moment every mother knows well — standing in a store, searching for a dress worthy of a child’s most special day. When my oldest daughter was three, I wanted something classic and elegant for her sister’s baptism… something soft, meaningful, and timeless.

Instead, all I found were bright colors, thick fabrics, uncomfortable cuts, and styles that felt nothing like the childhood I remembered.

That day, I felt frustration — and something deeper:
a longing to reconnect with tradition and to dress children like children again.

I told myself:
“Children deserve clothing they can remember — beautiful, classic pieces they can one day pass down.”

Where miekki Truly Began

My three daughters — Veronica, Alessandra, and Valeria— are at the heart of every stitch.
Some of our styles even carry their names.

They inspired me to bring back the magic I grew up with: soft pastels, fine hand-embroidery, delicate smocking, heirloom pieces that hold memories and stories. The kind of garments my grandmother used to bring me from Spain.

I still remember the day she gifted me a hand-embroidered dress — light, elegant, and beautiful.
I remember seeing myself in childhood photos wearing those heirloom outfits.
And I remember the quiet joy of my mother handing me the tiny embroidered pieces that I wore as a newborn — items she had kept in perfect condition.

These memories shaped me. They shaped miekki.

My Heritage, My Story, My Mission

I was born in Venezuela to a family with Spanish roots. For 20 years, I worked as an engineer — a path that taught me precision, discipline, and an obsession with detail.

Those same values guide miekki.

I believe children’s fashion lost its magic when fast fashion began prioritizing low cost over quality. Clothes became disposable — rough fabrics, harsh colors, and designs that didn’t honor the innocence of childhood.

But heirloom clothing is different.
It preserves history, craftsmanship, and cultural artistry — especially the handwork traditions passed down in Spanish families for generations.

I want to restore classic children’s fashion.

At miekki, we focus on:
 Timeless designs
 Exceptional craftsmanship
 Delicate hand-embroidery and smocking
 High-quality, comfortable fabrics
Long-lasting garments meant to be kept, cherished, and passed down

Every piece is created with intention, care, and respect for childhood.

What Keeps Me Going

Serving others — especially children — is what inspires me every day.

As a mom and as a founder, I wanted to create clothing that honors tradition yet feels soft, comfortable, and special. Clothing that makes a child feel unique. Clothing that becomes a memory.

Because to me…

miekki is not just clothing — it is a way to preserve the beauty of childhood.

Just as my mother treasured my newborn pieces, and I kept the special outfits worn by my daughters, I want your child’s miekki garment to become a piece you lovingly save — a reminder of a fleeting moment you never want to forget.

The Values Behind Every Stitch

miekki reflects the values that shaped my life:

 Elegance
