How can I care for my miekki pieces?

Each miekki item includes detailed care instructions on the tag, but here are a few general tips to help keep your heirloom-quality garments and ultra-soft swaddle blankets in perfect shape:

For Heirloom Clothing (Hand-Embroidered & Smocked Styles):

Hand wash or machine wash on a delicate cycle in cold water.

Use a gentle detergent. Avoid bleach and fabric softeners.

Hang dry or lay flat to dry to maintain the fabric’s shape and delicate details.

For best results, steam or iron on low heat inside-out (if needed).

For Bamboo & Cotton Swaddle Blankets:

Wash on a cold, gentle cycle with like fabrics.

Use a mild, baby-safe detergent.

Avoid bleach and softeners to maintain breathability and softness.

Tumble dry on low and remove promptly.

Do not leave wet blankets in a pile or basket to avoid mildew or staining.

Are your clothes and blankets made with safe materials?

Absolutely. All miekki products are made with baby-safe materials, including natural dyes, and are free of harmful chemicals. We never use flame retardants.

Our clothing collection is made for babies and children from 6 months to 6 years.
